The Greek Spot: A Taste of Authentic Greek Flavors in Ocean Township

Nice casual Greek restaurant and store with really great food. The staff is very nice. I ordered the Lamb Youvetsi and it was very tender and flavorful. I would have appreciated the food served on plates rather than throw away trays, but it seems much of their business is take out so maybe it makes sense. I am looking forward to trying something else next time.

Most amazing and authentic greek food in all of Jersey. Portions are huge and the prices are below average, so it's a double win (less than $20 for a huge platter). Would recommend this place even if it is a 1 hour drive. You will love the fries, meat, pita (not dry like other places) and the tzatziki (white sauce), especially the tzatziki, it tastes exactly like in Greece.

We ordered a gyro platter and a gyro and both options were great portions for the price point. The staff was wonderful, the environment was simple and Greek. Our only critique was the texture of the grilled chicken in the handheld gyro. It was overcooked so it took away from the meal, but we would go again and give it another try

We ordered the Meat Odyssey (with lemon potatoes) and the Lamb Youvetsi (side chicken soup) and it was spectacular! The portions were huge and the staff was super friendly! Highly recommend!

To all Monmouth University parents: If you’re concerned about your children not eating enough healthy and delicious food, The Greek Spot solves all that. Kalliope and her staff always give my son, Giovanni, and his friends from Monmouth a warm welcome. My husband and I have been able to experience that firsthand. This place is clean, cozy and serves up authentic Greek food consistently. The chicken souvlaki platter is the ultimate best value and it’s such a generous portion! They have a grill master that serves up moist chicken kabobs every time! We opt for spinach rice as a side often, and it’s quite flavorful. The tzatziki is creamy and tangy. Completes the perfect bite! The beef and lamb gyro platter is also great! A side salad is included with entree platters, and it’s always fresh. On our most recent visit, we tried the dolmas. I’ve never had them warm before, and they were so good! For Giovanni, when he’s had enough of Dining Hall food, he makes his way to The Greek Spot. It always delivers a scrumptious meal that’s easy on the wallet. Thank you to Kalliope and her staff! We wish them continued success, and we hope to be back soon!

me and my three friends went here for the first time today! they all got bowls said they were very good. i got the chicken souvlaki with orzo as my side, literally everything was great. pita clearly fresh and warm, chicken perfectly cooked, and the tzatziki was SO delicious. all the workers very personable and down to earth as well. will definitely be making the drive here more often!! :)

I usually don’t leave many reviews on here but this food was too good not to. I was looking around for healthier options for dinner and I stumbled across this place on google. I ordered a gyro platter and a lentil soup which came out to around $22. First of all I was so impressed by the authenticity of this place when I walked in. The next thing I noticed was the insane weight of the bag of food I was handed along with the amazing smell. The portion size was huge (enough for 2 meals) and the flavors were amazing. This was genuinely one of/if not the best takeout meals I’ve had in a very very long time. Needless to say I will be spreading the word about my amazing experience and I will be returning many times.

The Greek spot has very good gyros and Greek salads. The prices are a little bit higher, but this is the only place where you can get good gyro meat that doesn't come from a pre-made Patty, like most diners serve nowadays. There's not much room to eat inside but they do have a nice selection and their service is very good too.
